Wow! This crystal came out of Greg Cohen’s collection. For those who knew him, he was an avid collector of minerals, fossils, gemstones and… well.. all kinds of natural beautiful items.
I found this crystal just lazing about on his desktop. No, not his computer, but next to his laptop. Actually, yes, it was on his desktop computer now that I think about it. He must have had it there for a long time, expecting to do something about it, but not in a hurry. He was like that. Never in a hurry.
So I pocketed and brought it up with me to the Central Coast. I love Dioptase. I’m bit of an eclectic collector myself. But I had to downsize, so even this small specimen has to go.

Description
These pictures don’t do it justice, really. I have tried the best I can to take photos of it. I hope you like what I have posted here. It comes from South West Afrca and is the colour of an emerald. Mouth watering if you love green like I do.
The crystals are in good form and shape. I cannot see any dings to it at all. It was in his collection for many years. I’d say around thirty plus years. I’m selling it for the price he had on it way back when.
I have looked it up on the online encyclopedia everyone goes to these days. Alas, I have no more of his wonderful mineral books that we both used as references over the past years. So here is what mindat.org says about Dioptase:
